This is a perfectly balanced wine showing a vibrant and youthful cranberry color. The bouquet eludes to earthy spice aromas among coconut, coffee and concentrated red fruit with an undercurrent of eucalyptus, lavender and thyme.
Although it’s almost impossible to find a pecan in Spain, you’d have no trouble finding an almond, because next the US, Spain is the second largest producer in the world. Almonds are harvested in and around Alicante throughout August and September by placing a large cloth under the tree and shaking the fruit loose. Spanish almonds are prized possessions because they are the main ingredient in one of our traditional holiday desserts called, turron. Turron is a relatively easy dessert made by first roasting the almonds, and then combining them with honey and egg white. The two main varieties of turron are Alicante turron and soft Jijona turron.
