I wish all importers had a blog

Emilio for Bodegas Tintoralba at the London Wine Fair

Recently, about 6 months ago, I stumbled upon a blog called the bubble brother of a wine importer based in Cork, Ireland. I particpated at the LIWS fair (London wine fair) and was looking for some back ground information after the fair. As I started to read Julian’s wine importer’s blog, I couldn’t resist to write a comment which turned into a conversation on line.

It’s incredibly easy to connect through a blog. I have no idea who the bubble brothers are. I’ve never seen them and never heard about them, until I saw this blog. Reading their blog they tell a lot about themselves. In stead of just going to their website and peaking into their wine list, to see which wines the bubble brothers are importing, I can now read what they do with the wines, what they think of their suppliers, see some pictures, and read the comments on their posts.

Of course I could have sent an e-mail as well, but I’m sure the contact wouldn’t have been the same. I certainly hope that one day Bubble Brothers will be talking about Tintoralba’s wines as one of their suppliers, but if not, I am glad I had this spontaneous on line conversation, and hope to have a lot more in the future.

Here’s to you Julian, keep giving the right example to all importers out there without a blog.

Emilio
